Default Add tail pipes, added 4 mph

Went to Mir today, ran my junkyard 6.0 in that ran a best last year of 10.31@ 129 on slicks, put on nitto 555r radials today added stock lx/gt tail pipes. 1st pass 1.92 60 ft. 7.17 8th @104 and 10.89@ 133!! Blew the tires and let out cleanly. 2nd pass 1.75 60 ft 6.89 8th @ 105 and 10.60 @133.3. Never pulled like this till I put on the tails. Has anyone else on here tried tailpipes?

Have heard many mph higher spinning. Get it to stick and ET for good data.

Don't know for sure, that was last oct. Also I never spun on second pass, kind of slowly mashed it out the hole.

Kind of broad comparison lol

Spinning usually results in better MPH and I'm sure on a radial you will tend to go faster as well and weather and D/A and that also plays into it

I'm gonna guess your MPH gain was from the DA and not the tail pipes. I was at MIR Saturday with my car as well and the DA was KILLER! It was negative all day long. It was nearly -1000ft on my first pass. The car ran it's best ever on motor.

Id say it was more the drag radials then anything. That and DA.

What tire was on it before? A radial will (most times) show more MPH.

Was def a result of the tires. I have a h/c 6.0 fox body, about a month ago went to the track on 295/55 drag radials and trapped 132. Went back 2 weeks after and the only change was to 28/11.5 et street bias plies. Car dropped down to 129 and the da on both days was around +200 feet

Yeah, it had mt slicks in oct. it's probably a combo of all factors, may try this weekend w no tails, air may not be the same though. May give her a 150 shot of different air in high gear if those nittos will hold.

It is the tires. Spinning results in slower 60' which gives your car more time to pick up mph.
