I am a newbie to the ls world but it will be a good addition to my 65 chevy swb. Anyways I have an 04 5.3 out of a gmc truck minus computer and harness! My question is what all do I need if I buy the carb conversion kit from summit or jegs that has the 6ls box, intake and gaskets? One vendor sai I still needed the ecu/harness to control fuel.... On a carb?? So what gives....

Why the hell would he want a distributor?

Anyway, should be msd PN 6010, a performer rpm intake and intake gaskets for a 98-02 camaro/firebird with a ls1 is what you can tell the parts guy at the local autoparts.

Carb, intake, MSD 6010 box (24 tooth wheel) thats the basics.

Then you'll need the swap parts, motor mount adapters,flex plate, spacer/adapter for the old school trans, maybe an oil pan (depending on clearance), headers (unless you're keeping the stock manifolds).

No computer needed.
