Default EPS 222/226 in a carbed lq9?

I am putting an lq9 into my 1980 vette. I have found a cam that I had bought for my truck but I am going with something smaller in it. From the numbers on the end of the cam it appears to be an EPS 222/226 on 114.5 LSA (.598 lift?). How will this cam do in a 6.0? For now I plan on keeping the stock 317 heads. Victor jr with a 850 Quickfuel.

That's on the small side even for a Carbed 5.3. I've come to learn that LS engines in a carbureted form love a bigger cam. They Especially like a lot of lift and a tight lsa. That 114.5 lsa defiantly isn't ideal for a Carbed application. C3 vettes are dope!!

It will work, just not optimal. Power will come in a bit slow, about 3000 rpm it will start to pull.

I'm really only concerned with WOT power. Going to be mostly a 1/8 mile car. I was hoping to use this cam for now and go with a bigger one once I had everything together and going

Well, if you you've got it and you don't mind swapping it out later, I say run it and let us know how it does.
