DFW area Carb & Timing tune needed
Anybody have a good tuner they could point me to? The car is running and driving with an out of the box Holley 750HP Pro and MSD 6010. It actually runs pretty good but definately needs a tune. I'm hoping for a tuner who will allow me to watch and learn. Happy to pay for good work!

Unfortunately not. I'm fairly new to TX and don't know anybody here who's good with carb's. I've always had FI vehicles and all my tuning experience has been with LT1 Edit, SERT, and DJ Power Commander. I understand some basics and I'm not completely helpless with a carb but would really like to find someone willing to show me the right way and I would gladly pay them for their trouble.
I've called 4 shops in the area and 2 don't do carbs period. One was "sure he could figure it out" but he specializes in new mustang EFI tuning (quoted a mere $450.00 N/A, or $550 with N2O). The last guy wouldn't be able to get me in til June.

I could be wrong but with a good amount of research and a wideband I bet you could really figure out a lot. At least that's what I'm hoping for since that's what I'm doing lol

Well I think you are right! I played with my timing yesterday and couldn't believe how much different the car felt. After a little reading I think I might have a pretty good idea where to start with the carb as well. Also, during tuning (first time I've really got on it hard) a fuel pressure drop started occuring...bad enough to make the car stall after a hard pass.

Invest in some chassis dyno time....best $ spent. I would get with Keith @ Speedtek in Haltom City, a small drive, but he knows his stuff.
