Engine height question..... The current setup in my '64 Vette is a 327 w/ Edelbrock performer intake, Holley 650, and air cleaner. I'm looking to do a LM7 w/ Edelbrock Victor Jr. intake, NX nitrous plate, Holley 750, and air cleaner. When I put the Edelbrock performer intake onto my 327 years ago I ran into under hood fitment issues and I had to get a '66 Big Block hood. (Not complaining, Big Block hood looks better anyway 
). I've never measured the height difference between an old school SBC and a Carb'd LS. Does anyone have any experience with this? I'd really like everything to fit under the stock Big Block hood if possible.

If you aren't running a carb spacer it should be no issue...there was a 454 in my 81 camaro before I got it and they cut a hole in the hood to fit the air cleaner...after my LS swap my air cleaner is still out of that hole the same as the big block...I'm using trans adapt engine mounts
