Msd 6010 grounds ???

Default Msd 6010 grounds ???

Do I need to ground to the battery or the engine ??? is it okay to splice the grey and black wire to make them longer ?? If so what gauge wire do I need to get ???

You can ground to whatever you want, but back of driver side cylinder head is the easiest place due to the layout of the harness if you ask me...yes you can lengthen the wires just use same gauge wire as the existing wire, it's like 18 or 20 gauge

I ground mine to the intake. Rear left bolt.

I also have my battery grounded to the Trans since it is in the trunk. Then a engine to chassis ground and battery to chassis ground.

just so I'm sure that I am reading correctly, you have two grounds off the batt.?

I ask because I have my battery in the rear as well but it is grounded at the frame rail (2/O welding cable) and the motor is ground at the frame in front (2/O also)...wondering if that's enough, even though I have not experienced any problems (so far).

Battery in trunk here also, but have a rol lbar (welded),weld-in sub-frame connectors, and used 0 ga. welding leads. Grounded in trunk at rear rail, and motor grounded at front rail.
MSD box grounded at firewall (where heater box was).

All working fine.
