Default Ran the truck! Vids added!

Made one run at our 1/8th mile. I was on the small 225/60/16 bfg ta drag radials so I was unsure of how they would handle the power. They hooked good I was shocked but I didn't take off really hard. I foot breaked it to about 2k and didn't give it any more untill a bit into second. My shift cable is adjusted wrong so it auto shifted to 2nd at 3k. Hammered it at about 4k in second and hit the limiter not payin attention, hit 3rd and not long after crossed the traps. A shitty under launched 60' of 1.977 led to a poor et of 7.66 but my mph was up at 95.7~ so that's promising. I parked the truck and 3 runs later someone lost controll at the traps and smoked the wall, they shut the track down for the day. I left the truck there and totally plan on hammering that 60' down and gettin the boot for under 7.49! I'm gunna fix the shifter issue and run it out in 1st

Almost 96 MPH. That is good enough for some 7.0s with your 4k converter.

Might still be enough. Plus you have all the little tweaks yet. You will find more in it. I know I did.

Thanks. My shifter cable is holding me back alot I think by makin the transmission shift to second at 3k and I also took it really easy off the line. Pretty good for a pickup tho I'd say!

Ran again today. They gave me 2 runs and our air was awesome for once 1200-1600 da. I ended up running faster than I was allowed and got the boot! I was and still am excited. I wasn't able to add any timing cuz msd an windows 8 is a pain in the *** so im still on 29*. I managed a run of 7.51 @96.5 with a 1.8 something 60' and ten my next run I got after it more and spun a little to a 1.788 60' and a 7.388 @96.3 mph. Ill get the gopros up but I'm honestly happy with my mph! I'm also rich still a wot 11.7 is what I seem on my way home. I wonder what my mph would do if I leaned it out and gained about 4* in timing? Oh and I got a little over 20 mpg on the way home too!

You will likely get somewhere between .5 MPH - 1 MPH when you lean it out. The timing could be worth a little more depending on your heads and compression. Which head and how much compression?

It probably will like more timing. Most of the guys I have seen with the square port heads have been in the low to mid 30s on timing.

6.0 lq9 with ls3 heads with a cam, victor jr, and long tubes. Slp Th400 with a random brand 3400-3600 stall (I think) welded 3.73 stock gears stock rear end, home made caltracs with the overload leaf removed. I had some wheel hop when the tires spun on the last hit but the tires are only 225/60/16 old bfg radials and I left off the foot brake at 2000~ rpm.

It's a long read I know so long story short, had a bad spark plug wire arcing out on a header and missing the fire. I wider what I gave up because of it at the track?!?

So yeah, I'm pretty upset with myself. I had a noticeable miss at idle and never got it fixed at the track in time and ran it anyways. I ran good for what it is tho, 7.387@96.34 mph with a best mph of 96.51. As I was driving home I still noticed the miss leaving town. Had to hold the gas a little at street lights to keep from stalling but I just needed to get home. Took it out today to haul some trash and decide to screw around with my new speedometers 1/4 mile feature. Got after it and spun the street tires bad then hooked, shifted to second and I could hear and feel the miss again ( thought it was a messed up map sensor adding too much timing) so I shifted early at like 6000 and ran out third untill the gauge clicked off a 12.21@121 mph. I pulled into my friends house about 1/4 mile further down the road to unhook the map sensor. Unhooked it and chatted with a friend while the truck was idling and still missing. I figured i hurt something at the track so i figured I'd limp it home and check it out. Got it home and it didn't take long to hear the issue and fix it. A spark plug wire was arcing out on the header and killing the cylinder untill it would catch and fire. Fml. I wonder what I gave up at the track because of it. I now remember moving the wire before tech at the track so it wasn't a issue but I apparently moved it too far and it got close to the header and melted then began arcing. My first run the truck wouldn't run up over 4k in second burning out and I figured that was really odd with small wet radials now I'm guessing this is why. I have a vid of it arcing but it won't publish to YouTube from my phone. Too bad I'm already kicked off the track so I could see how it would do actually running on all 8 all the time.

Figured I'd post this to let others know of my misfortune. Check check and recheck your wires if you ever have a miss
