Need some help designing basic daily driver fuel system
Im just finishing the build of my junk yard LS1 with a cam upgrade and some cleaned up 243 heads. Its going in my 1972 daily driver C20 suburban and Im starting to look at the fuel system. The truck has a brand new factory tank and currently has the factory mechanical pump on the stock 402 big block. Obviously with the LS swap, Im going to have to go with an electrical pump....any recommendations? Also, any input on fuel line size, filter, regulator would be much appreciated. Im going for simple, effective, and somewhat budget friendly.

I say either a walbro 255 or a inline holley black, both shud b good to 600hp or more, id highly suggest a return style holley regulator and use nothing but 3/8 fuel line

As for the a fuel pressure regulator, you just can't beat the value of the old Holley 803 regulators.

For a near stock LS motor you don't need that much pump. Keep it down around 100 gph or less. I'm running a stock LS2 with a 750 DP, so same heads, maybe more HP. I have a Mallory 140 gph pump with 3/8 line and a return style regulator and it is way too much pump. All a pump that size does is make more noise while costing more.
Carter makes a good pump. In all honestly I would go with a Summit brand pump in the 90-100 gph range.
Here is a good link about setting up a fuel system. From what I have seen people actually run the link tends to oversize what is needed. So if you satisfy what this link is saying you will have more than enough fuel system.
