Are you going to get it upgraded to stage 2 with the billet forward drum/input shaft ? Im sure Lonnie has already pushed that at you, LOL. If not, its a really good idea at your power level.

What are you talking about? It is just a junkyard Escalade motor with a cam. LOL

Seriously, we will see what he has to say when he gets the unit. It has been pretty resilient so far.

Its been great to stand up to that car at the level the trans is built to. That trans in your car is the biggest reason I have one of Lonnies 2004Rs in my car. He builds some pretty bullet proof 2004s !

I'm thinking it will be looser with your car at the weight it is.
Can't wait for the results

Since I am installing an anti-roll bar, I was forced to address an issue that this car has always had. The right side has always sat about 1" taller than the left. Here was the culprit:

Someway somehow my car had two different front coil springs. One has ten coils and the other has eleven. The eleven coil springs is slightly taller. Weird. What may be funnier is that I had these out, cleaned and painted them at one time too and did not notice.

Pick the taller one, IMO. It should hold more energy with the extra coil.

Would be great to know the frontend weight now Vs. the 6cyl, and the V8 weights.
Thinking the tallest/lightest spring for a V8....the 5246. (stock 65)

The car is supposed to come from the factory with the 5246. However, mine seems to have one 656 and one 638 by the measurements.

The next consideration is that my new motor/trans combo is about #140 heavier than stock. So, I was thinking about the 5234 springs. They are the same rate and wire diameter as factor, but the weight rating is #150 more. Then there is the Moog 6204, which is more like a drag spring.

Good luck with the H&R bar Steven. When I had my own shop we installed about 10 of them.Make sure you compensate for the weight of the trans and convertor if they are not back in the car during install.

The instructions say to have it sitting on the ground, full weight with the driver in the seat for the final adjustment. Anything else I should know from your experience? Do you often have to use pre-load?

I have a progressive. I already limit the launch down to about 80 horse all in by the end of the 60'. I am hoping the suspension work I am doing right now will allow me to hit it a little harder.

I wish I had known you were wanting that type of sway bar. I just pulled the one off my SS a few weeks back.
