The angle was 4 degrees and it is what most intakes have the carb pad set at. This angle was one of the things that helped keep the cam from walking forward in the block in the days of flat tappets. The lifter rotation (angled nose on the cam) helped a little also.

got it pluged and both front 1/4s on today as well as all headers clearanced starting to move along, but my carb pad angle was identical to the engine angle, i thought itd make it more levle? is this still ok you guys think?

I believe the plug I used was .47 inches, I put very little rtv on it cuz rtv wreaks havoc on trannys then a I put a somewhat large ball of steel putty over it, shudnt be ne problems but dam the passenger side header was a bastard to clearance and now idk where my new trans dip stick will run

Can some1 post some pics for me of the routing of there dipsticks in there ls swapped rides, it looks like my dipstick willl be really close to the headers is this a problem?
