hard starting when warm

hard starting when warm

ok I have a 4.8 fresh rebuild bearings, rings , cam and lifters I have an edelbrock 600 cfm and ngk tr55 plugs the cam is the hot gm kit with ls6 springs 219/228 .525 112 lsa now she fires right up when cold but when she is warm it turns over quite a few times and I have to put the pedal to the floor to start any ideas why

Almost sounds like a stuck choke (i.e. too rich). What are your air fuel ratios like? Black plugs or tail pipe?

Those edelbrock carburetors are notorious for that. I've had three or four of them over the years and all of them acted like that. Save yourself some trouble and by a holley.

How does it sound with that cam? I imagine it idles very nice.

hey zones you are so right she idles awesome just what I wanted as far as the power it has been snowing since I finished putting her back together. so come on spring, thanks for everybody's input

I would check the fuel line routing. You might also try an insulated gasket or spacer.

There are several things that cause hot start issues, but boiling fuel is probably the most common.

I agree on the Holley comments. You'll leave a a lot of power on the table with that Edelbrock.
