I think modern stuff with micro circuits is a lot tougher these days. The LS boxes aren't handling any real power either so that also helps. just supplying trigger pulses to the coil packs.

Pop n wood, the LS box does BOTH power supply and activation trigger... There are 2 grounds and a single power lead.

I just don't agree with mounting it to the engine. The vibrations are not good for electronics. But hey, I am just one person with his own opinion.

And yet, being the guy that has used more MSD 6010/6012 units than anyone I know with no failure, it's crazy when I see people have failures from their first MSD box.

Not really. The box just passes the 12V to the harness for each coil pack, probably nothing more than just a wire junction. All the high energy switching is done by the electronics on each coil pack. The old capacitive discharge boxes had higher voltage and energy electronics in them to handle all the spark energy to the coils. That is why they were more failure prone.

I would be surprised if there is anything more inside the box than an FPGA and some low power transistors for the 5V trigger signals. With minimal connections and microcircuits it won't be that susceptible to vibration.

Update:

Getting the fuel system mounted finally. I had to make a bracket for the pump, since the supplied one doesn't have much support. I also mounted the pump upside down, do you think ill have an issue with that? The bracket I made isn't pretty, but it holds. lol. that's all that matters. I also made a bracket for the FPR and mounted it, now I need to take my hose to get fittings pressed on them.

That thing is going to transmit some noise being bolted right to the sheet metal.

Keeping the pump near the bottom level of the tank helps keep it from losing suction. Mounting it upside down goes in the wrong direction. If it is below the tank than not a problem.

I was going to weld the brackets to the sheet metal and use some rubber in between the mounts. My buddy told me the same thing, so im actually going to lower it and flip it upright. but how does it being upside down make it go the wrong direction? it has an inlet and outlet on there, and the pump only pulls one way, why would it being upside down change anything?

I meant mounting it upside down takes the pump part of it farther from the bottom of the tank.

oh ok I gotcha. I ended up flipping it upright and lowered it as well.
