Yes. It wont show up on the computer if you dont. If youcant bring your computer to the box ive used a jumper wire and a atv small battery to power the + pin

Yes, Key on / motor off.
Zero out the MAP until you're ready to adjust later
Write your timing (Place the dots where you want and save as _____ )
*Don't forget to adjust rev limiter....ask how I know
Now plug in your laptop to the MSD
Turn the ignition on to run position (do not start motor)
Open the file you want/just wrote
Transfer computer to MSD (all files) *watch download bar for completion

Now you are ready to start motor

Nope, set it in the ball park and drive it. 32* is usually a safe number for max WOT timing. From there tune it out.

Hopefully you got this figured out. Like they said, use jumpers to the pink and grey wires, + - accordingly. plug it in the comp and go. It should load automatically when powered up. It sucks not having a laptop to program that thing... I know.

Do you have the usb to 9 pin serial adapter? If so it should be able to communicate using the com3 option.

Open Windows device manager and note what com port is assigned to your cable, then open Graphview and select the correct com port there...

I went on MSD forums and they have a video on how to fix it. I had to use a Vista Laptop to get mine to work.
