Brakes are on, axle is in, starting to look like a car again. another exhausting weekend through. i'm hoping only another few weekends like this before i'm back together.

i got word from my buddy that is doing the finish welding on the headers that his race this weekend got canceled, so he is looking to go out next weekend for testing. thusly, he is coming down this weekend to do the welding instead of next weekend. that's all fine and good, except as of yesterday he had no space to work on the headers in my shop (cause it was such a mess) and the engine was not in the car. so out in the garage i went to install the mock up engine and do some cleaning, lol! had a new supervisor watching today. hope she liked what she saw.

i hope i get many years of daddy-daughter time like this

Milestone achieved! Headers are welded, and I got the longitudinal limiter built today. Mock up and fabrication is nearing completion. I'm only missing a few tabs on the radiator support for hood retention, to mount the headlight bar, and the exhaust of course. I'm hoping to blow this all back apart soon to paint and start final assembly. Huge thanks to Jeff Moyer for coming down to TIG these up

It could be fired up in the next week, however I am thinking another month before it is race ready. I have a few more funds to come up with. I have to coat the headers and get a new hood still. But I think all other things I need are now on hand. I believe it will run 9s this year but may not be the first outing.

You have been edging closer and closer, I agree it may not be the next outing but then again it may just fly and get it done.

mock up nearing completion. probably 1 more full days worth of fab, then it all comes apart for cleaning, coating, and painting, then final assembly.

also, some unexpected goodies will be rolling in as well. i will update as that unfolds

i painted the engine bay this weekend. i'm embarassed by the results it's a rattle can job, and i ended up with some really bad textures in some areas. it pictures well, but that's it. it will get me through this season. i'm planning on a 10 pt next winter, and i'll put some strut bars in the engine bay then, and redo all the paint properly then.

well, this week wasn't as productive as i'd hoped. still waiting on parts. i WAS able to spend a little time getting the motor plate edges straightened up and i'm beginning a polishing process on it. i got some nice professional polishing stuff and realized that i don't have a tool that will spin the wheels fast enough for the stuff to work right. instead of spending money i don't have on a polisher, i'm going to put in some sweat equity and wet sand it. it'll take some time, but will be nice when i'm done.

also got a teaser picture from the coater. he is using cerakote air dry stuff and it takes a full 5 days to cure can't wait to get these back. i got a surprise trip out of town for work this week so progress will be stalled for a few days time to get it on when i get back though!

I did a nitrous switch panel I made. Wet sanded, then some more, polished by hand, turned out very nice. It was a small fraction of what that is, but it will look nice as hell when done.

aluminum is way easier to polish than it looks, and with something this flat it'll be pretty straight forward. way better than cutting/buffing a car, that's for sure! (i gotta clay bar my car badly )
