Carb help please
Do I just need a plain ole 750 double pumper?
I came across a nice used quick fuel slayer series 750 vac secondaries. Will this work good for mainly spirited street driving?
Vac secondaries means that the back 2 barrels open up at a certain time and during WOT, at a certain vacuum set by a spring. Mechanical secondaries open the secondaries as soon as you hit WOT, there is no delay. This can be good for race but can cause a bog to a heavier vehicle or one not set up for such a quick hit.
Vac secondaries are great for heavier vehicles, mechanical for lighter and race vehicles.
The difference between the 2 or 4 corner idle is tuneability. 4 you have more tuneability, but you will be fine with 2.
Metering blocks, holley 4160 series carbs have a metering block for the primary side and a metering plate with NON adjustable jets, 4150 series has a block on the primary and secondary so you can jet both sides. I had a 4160 modified to a 4150 by removing the secondary plate and adding a metering block.
