Dual dominators, tunnel ram 408
So... I'm building a max effort, track only motor. Ls2 block 408 nitrous motor. My plan is a holley high ram with 2 dominator carbs. My question is will two 750 dominators work for me or is that still too much carb.
I'm new to carb in general so this will be a journey.

That can work great for you. Just make sure the. Carburetors are calibrated to work in pairs. Can't wait to see some pictures of this beast.

My line of thinking is, I've seen and read several things of guys all picking up 25-30hp up top going from a single, say super vic, to the tunnel ram with 2 fours. So that seems to be the ticket if your looking to eek out that last little bit. Maybe the Dominators are too much though to be well balanced. I have no doubt they would perform well but is there a smaller race only carb that might pair better?

Oooo those look nice, good power too. Rarely see the Hi Ram carb setups. How does everyone feel about the top of the Hi Rams? Most tunnel rams ive seen including sheetmetals have a flat top. Is there a benifit to the Hi Ram top other than plenum volume? Or has anyone put a fabricated flat top on one?

Imho big single is the go though. 419ci ls3 made 790hp, with 1050 dominator on ms109

Hopefully it goes together like this...

I'm working on that this weekend. I'm using two 4150 EFI throttle bodies instead, but I'm using 1/2" aluminum plate and just machining it for the 4150's. The bolts go into the top plate front the bottom on the hi-ram, so I have to drill and tap the bolt holes.

Almost done. The drill bit walked when I was drilling one of the holes, so I have to slot it a little to get it to fit. Then I'll trim the outside and radius the corners. Once I get the air cleaner, I can drill and tap the holes for the carb studs and bore out the opening for the throttle bodies.
I'll be using different hardware too. The Hi-Ram tops are threaded so bolts are supposed to be threaded into the top from underneath. I drilled 5/16" through holes in the top plate and will use a 1/4" flanged bolt up top and a nut underneath instead. More room for error when drilling the holes.
