What camshaft for drag race only lq4 w/l92s

sounds like you just found a 1 7/8 header that fits your truck. Congrats!

If you're still willing to fly-cut the pistons, here is what I would recommend:

Mill the heads another .020" and run a .040" gasket to achieve maximum compression. Fly-cutting will allow for less valve drop as the reliefs in the pistons will make up for the lost valve drop from milling the heads and running a thinner gasket. This will take you from 9.9:1 where you're sitting right now to roughly 10.7:1 compression.

As for the camshaft, here is what I would do:

230/250 .629/.612 110+5

definitely a big plus being able to get a 1 7/8" header on this thing.
would this be worthwhile or should i just switch gears and do a blow thru turbo...flip my small headers around run on e85...in your opinion what would you do...you seem to have a ton of answers

Turbo all the way no doubt about it.

Cam will definitely need to be changed for a turbo as well.
