Default Best method for trimming the cowl??

If I'm in the wrong section, I apologize but I figured this is where I would get my answer. I have recently decided to take the plunge and go with a vic jr., accufab 4150 set up. I am about to start to clearance the cowl. I would like to do minimal cutting and retain my wipers. I have seen it done where you have to just cut off 1 pass side wiper bolt. I would also like to be able to run some sort if filter or carb hat and cone on the street. I plan to buy a vfn 4" sloped WS6 so hood clearance won't be an issue. My question is what is the best tools and methods used to cut the cowl? I heard if you're not careful you can break the windshield and that has me spooked now.

I did a carbed 357 CI SBC years ago. I used a cut off wheel. Just took my time and went to work. On the small block big block section I did a thread I'm sure.

Here is a reference to where I cut
