Default Will I achieve my goals?

So please bare with me, I have been building a 70 nova with a stroked 403 c.i. Ls with the Gm cnc'ed ls3 heads, victor junior, pro systems carb, and a hydrolic roller that measures .632/.639 and .243/.251 @.050. The car weighs roughly 3040 pounds without me in it,so roughly 3280 pounds with me in it. The compression ratio of the motor is right around 12.0:1. The reason I ask to bear with me is because I have already asked this question before but some of my facts were not correct i.e. compression ratio and wait a vehicle. My goal for the car on motor is to go somewhere in the 10.50 range, Can someone tell me if I will be achieving my goal next weekend at the track or if I'm just crazy. And roughly what kind of horsepower does a motor like this make, thanks and advance getting a little anxious to take the car to the track after three years of hard work.

Ok so is it safe to say that this combo makes close to 550 rwhp?

You gave us some info to work with but you also left a lot of holes here. I know you are really going to love all these questions... But it will give us a better idea of what you are working with.

What size is the pro systems carb?

What gears in the rear and size tires on the back? 26...28 ? A sticky tire I hope.

What size stall and transmission?

What size headers and exhaust?

What fuel pump and what size fuel line to the front? I'm hoping over 120 GPH with a -8

Pro system built the carb for me and Its a 950 main body with 1 3/4 throttle blades if that helps.

Stall is 4300 and the transmission is a th350 with trans brake and full manual vale body

Headers are 1 7/8 dynatech long tube and 3 inch x pipe exhaust dumped before rear axle.

Fuel system is an aero motive a1000 with -10 feed and -8 return.

Any more information just let me know.

You missed the gears and tire size. The LSA on the cam and ICL will give a better look at how the power curve should go. Hopefully you have decent springs and larger pushrods. But I really would expect that combo to run faster than 10.5's easily with 3.73's or 4.10's and sticky tires.

What kind of elevation/DA is your track at?

Sorry about that I completely jump right over that. The gear is a 3.90 and the tire size is ether a 28x10 hooser slick if I can get it to fit and if not it will be a 275/60 Mickey Thompson drag radial. Cam lsa is on a 110 so have the springs the cam guy recamended and bigger comp pushrods the intake center line is I believe is a 106 but I will post the cam card. I'm not sure if your familur with California but it is famaso raceway and it is right around 660ft above see level.
here is the piston info

and carb info

Imo you have the parts to get in the 9's, so I would say something is wrong in your setup if you only came back with only a 10.5. I hope have a cage, jacket and all the safety stuff required.

Rear wheel won't tell you anything IMO. I would expect 650hp at the flywheel if it's all built properly.

It could use more duration @.050, but it should fly pretty well.

Man, I hope you don't blow something up.

I'm not a big fan of "tuners" but you might consider a dyno tune to get a solid baseline.

What is there to tune? I have had the carb made for the motor made a third gear pull and watched the wide band and it was all good? The purpose of the carb is so I don't have to go to a tuner.

With 108 octane (If it was mine) I would start 28 degrees make 2 hits (keeping temp and shift RPM the same) and work my way up 2 degrees at a time until your trap MPH stops increasing. Obviously if it slows down between 28-30 then you should be going the other way.

Pro systems will get it close but you will still need to tune.

Good luck.
