Anyone have any pics and details of an alternator only and belt setup? I am leaning towards electric water pump and a low mount alternator mount. I can just run from balancer pulley to alternator pulley with no idler? I m not running power steering or a/c. This is on a LQ9.
Only need belt around the crank pulley, alternator, and whatever you use for a tensioner. There are pre-fabbed adjustable alternator brackets that act as a tensioner but that puts a lot of side load on the crank pulley. An idler might help if that becomes an issue.
I have a bolt in one ear to the block and a 1/4" x 2" flat bar with a slotted hole for tension...has some flex and get a little belt squeal when goosed...but belt is staying on
