Hello, I知 building a carbureted L92 and I知 trying to determine if I should use a single or dual plane intake. I was looking at the Holley 300-129. It値l primarily be a street engine. In my experience with SBC痴 single planes were for drag racing and hurt power down low. I see tests like this https://www.streetmusclemag.com/tech-stories/the-plane-truth-single-or-dual/ which the dual plane outperforms the single plane from 3,000 and below and to 4,800. Does anybody have experience with both intakes on LS痴?

Richard Holdener has tested them all, and dual plane wins conclusively every time for street use where low RPM power is most important.
But it looks like you know that already.

Look at Cam Motion cams. Check their 6.2 truck and street-type cams.

+1 For Cam Motion. They will grind anything you want. Fill out their very detailed custom cam request form. No extra charge vs shelf cams.
Sounds like a good dual plane would be best for you. Edelbrock Performer RPM 71197 is about the best there is in that world.

I was looking at the Holley 300-129 because I知 not installing a box on the manifold so the holes would not be used on the edelbrock. Wouldn稚 look good to me. Any major difference between the two?

Probably nothing you would notice.....Only reason I mentioned that intake is because it always seems to "win" the dual plane part of the dyno shootouts... Ive had several different versions of it on different types of engines over the years and have always been happy. Holley intake is probably fine. I have a Holley "spit" intake on my LS427 currently and like it.

I did send Rich an email, took a while to reply, expected if never, gave him my full combo and asked about intakes.... He said dual plane. (but now I forget which one)
