Lots of reading here...MSD 6010 users. Whats your timing set at? - LS1TECH - Camaro and Firebird Forum Discussion

Most say 30*...I'm at 35* and 10.8:1 comp on 93 pump ****... LY6, Vic Jr, 750 Mighty Demon (BG, not Holley version)
There are too many variables to say XX is right and really is best to start low working you way up.
I started at 32 and went up 2 every pass to 38 where it wasn't happy at all. 34 was best MPH and 36 was best ET... I went 35 and it seems to be ok with it.

Without a dyno or a track, you are never going to know "optimal" timing.

I run 32* with my LS3, Mast 11 degree head, 11.5:1 on 93 octane. I have been 9.70 so far at #3275. I run a 950 cfm 4500 carb on a CID intake. Lots of variables, number 1 being have you indexed your timing pointer to the balancer and confirmed piston TDC to be able to verify actual timing numbers outside of what the MSD software says your commanded timing is? That may explain a lot of the variables from people reading ECU only timing and not verifying 'actual'.
