I've got a V6, and proud of it. I'm only on this board because it's a large board, with a lot of f-bodies. And that = more info for me. But getting answers to my questions here is like squeezing a rock for orange juice. I blame my 6 pistons. I don't have a reason to have a rocket car, we've already got a 10 second mustang that is a kick in the pants to drive.

Not everybody can afford a V8. Even if they are $5000, which I haven't seen yet. Insurance and premium fuel add up fast. I love V8s but they are more expensive to drive and maintain than a V6.

I bought a 2000 V6 back when I was a junior in high school and about 2 months ago I bought a Z28...couldn't be happier owning the best of both worlds, heh.

Why don't you shut up. There is nothing wrong with a 6 cylinder.

Keep the v6. No matter what, keep it. Even if you do decide to go 8 10 12 or 16 cylinders down the road, keep the v6. If you are hating the power aspect...mod it or do an lsx or ltx or sbc or bbc swap. I'd never sell my sixer, and its still the car i love driving the most out of a 2nd gen TA, a vette, a 350 sbc turd gen.

as far as mileage...

i get about 15 mixed, 21 highway in my sixer.

my TA gets about 1.3 gallons per 1/4 mile.

its all relative lol

Not bashing the car at all but why are you running premium in a car that doesn't require it.

My 6er gets worse mpg on plus vs regular. I don't think I'd want to see how poor it would do on premium.

I have owned 2 V6's before my SS (I just turned 22)..F-bodys is all I have ever owned. One V6 I built a custom turbo for it and it had over 380rwhp....car was fast but I just needed that V8 sound....Now that I have my SS I dont regret a damn thing and will never go back!

I bought my V6 Camaro RS last year around this time and love it so far.

This is my 4th fbody having owned an 85 bird with a 305, an 89 T/A with a V8 and a 90 Z28 with a V8 I must say this has been the most fun owning this V6 I have had out of owning all my previous cars. It does the job just fine and it still spanks hondas badly. If you can't get an LT1 or LS1 this is the best alturnative to that in my opinion.

Will I own an LS1 some day? probably there's no doubt in my mind it will happen soon but right now in my life there's just no room for a V8 in my life just yet. Right now i'am enjoying the little V6 at the moment.

thats all its about bro...fun. As long as your happy and having fun then more power to ya! thats why I dont understand why you get these dick head people that come bashing on v6's just because they are under powered...not fair.

Your comment = dumb! V6 Camaros are what give GM the money to make the V8s.

I love my v6 and have every intention of keeping the 6 in it. I dont understand how some people are so quick to just blurt out "If its not a v8 then I dont care". I like cars that you can tell people are passionate about and would rather spend what ever amount of money on building a v6 and doing any route of forced induction or whatever just to be unique and different. Anyone can save money, buy a shell and throw a nasty motor in it (**** honda people do that too), but its something else for someone to just appreciate there car for what it is.
