I like the 5th gen and will purchase one. I will be purchasing another 4th gen before that happens, though. There is just something about the raw and unrefined feeling that the 4th gen has. People say it's harsh and whatnot - but that's what I like. People don't complain about how rough the Viper is, so why can't they understand the intrigue from the 4th gen? It's a single-purpose vehicle. Go fast, who cares about the rest?!

The new Camaros kinda look like a mustang with that c-scoop on the side IMA.

i agree with both of these post. i like the styling of the 4th gen better than the 5th. IMO the 4th gen is more muscle than the 5th. i like the raw power. the long hood and doors. the basic none luxury interior and the power to dollar ratio. i perfer it to be loud and rough. im not sayin the 5th gen isn't nice. but i MUCH rather have a 4th gen any day.

I bought my 4th gen Camaro because I couldn't afford the extra few thousand dollars for a WS6 at the time. I love the look of the WS6 exterior way more than my Z28, but interior-wise I feel the Camaros are 1000 times better than the TAs. As far as the new Camaro goes, I don't like what I've seen so far but I'll reserve judgement until I see one in real life. I have a habit of growing to like cars the more I see them, even the ones that I couldn't stand the look of when they came out.

The one thing you can't beat with the 4th gen Camaros, though, is that when you get into this car, especially for the first time, it feels like you're getting into a race car. Some people complain that the interior is plastic/cheap, but everything is sleek, long, and low to the ground. When my buddy, who has only ever driven Mustangs, got into my Camaro for the first time, he said this exact same thing and couldn't stop telling me how much he loved the race feel of the interior of my car compared to his Mustang GT.

I had a D/D third gen for 15 years and have had my 4th gen for 7 years. I love my Fourth Gen.

I still like the styling of my '99 over any 5th gen I've seen. I am also pissed they just dropped the Z28. I mean what the hell, this is GM, the same people that started to put SS badges on anything that moves! Then we don't even get a new Z car. I'll buy a couple more 4th gens before I think about buying a 5th gen v6 for cheap and putting Z28 badges on it.

I'm getting off my soap box now...

no bullshit, I was going to buy a 5th gen......until I found out they weigh 3850.

turds.

I remember when the 4th gens were the "Pigs" of the weight class back before the dumdumdumdumdum's came out. Now they are crazy light compared to the new stuff. mustangs, challengers, and camaros alike.

the new ones are still beautiful as far as looks though.

I still am of the opinion the the 4th gen Camaro is one of the best looking, best performing cars of my time. I personally could care less about the 5th gens as I think they are disgustingly ugly even if they will have awesome performance.

When you can get good gas mileage, cruise to the track, lay down a pass in the 12's or lower and then cruise home blaring the CD player with the AC on that is performance. No other muscle car can lay claim to that in stock (or close to it) form.

I agree. Some genius at GM decided to turn the Camaro into a luxury car. When 4th Gens can run 12's and go pick up groceries on the way home from the track, that's an accomplishment. Guess GM has never heard of "don't fix it if it ain't broke."
