Bypassed VATS, still no crank Hi. My '99 Z28 wouldn't start at the gas pump, called mobile mechanic. He has my steering column out now.
After searching many places (best info here) I came to the conclusion it was the VATS. I followed suggestions made here and YouTube and the security light is no longer on but it still won't even try to crank. Please help!! I need this car to run.
Also, the acuator rod for the ignition will not stay seated, so when you turn the key nothing happens internally. The mechanic tells me I need a new steering column because everything is loose. Is there a way around this?
