Question 94 z28 TERRIBLE mileage

Hey guys this is my first post here, I've been lurking for a while and just reading stuff.

My 94 z28 m6 has 177xxx miles on it and it only gets 13.5 mixed city/highway mpg . Its my daily driver so I really want to get this issue fixed.

So far I have replaced the pcv valve, and the previous owner put in new plugs and wires. There are no codes for anything at all, so I'm thinking 02 sensors aren't the problem.

Can someone steer me in the right direction?

Only mods are a pvc cai I made and tb bypass, airfoil.

Sometimes when it starts up, not necessarily cold, it will rev up to 1500 or 1900 and stay there for 30 seconds.

Today I put on a new fuel filter and cleaned the maf with the crc cleaner.

Also I would put it in 6th but at 65 mph it feels like its bogging down.

can you post pictures of your pvc mod?

How cold is the weather where you are at?
Airfoil should not matter whatsoever.

The most obvious thing I can recommend is changing your spark plugs. Believe it or not that makes a huge difference. Try that and report back!

This is the first version of the intake, since then I made a different one out of thin wall pvc because that one interferes with the hood a bit.

Lately the weather has been in the 20's to 50's and usually my car doesn't get above the 185 mark on the temp gauge.

*sorry one more thing that it does is hard starting. Every time I turn the key it cranks over for like 5 seconds, I stop cranking it then I turn it one more time and it fires right up.

Ok did you read the spark plug comment? Sounds like you may have some old ones if you have a problem firing up. Change em bra!
