The engine bay is a bit dusty and not nicely detailed, and you mentioned there is some paint damage. So it's certainly not eligible for premium show car pricing with those sorts of issues. Having said that, it IS an '02 SS with some SLP options and very low mileage, so with the listed condition, depending on how bad the paint damage is (can it be buffed out, or would repainting be necessary?) I think that price would be reasonably fair in my area. Keep in mind that I live in a major city (Chicago) where everything is priced higher than most other areas, and where it's harder to find local cars that have been spared winter exposure.

It's an '02 so it will eventually have (if not already) the bubbling roof issue. This is a much harder thing to deal with on a hardtop model, since the entire roof needs to be replaced rather than just the sail panel. Here is a thread about the issue, if you are not aware:

'98s are not affected by this problem, unless it was built in the last few months of '98 production.

There's always nabbing the VIN and contacting GM/look up a VIN decoder online.

Looks real clean other than the scuffs. I would probably see if you could talk him down because of that damage. But even for $14k I would still probably do it, you will have a tough time finding an SS with those miles for that type of money, that alone makes the damage almost negligible IMO.

The build month will be present on one of the factory stickers on the driver's door jamb. It will be in MM/YY format.

If you want the exact build day, you can get this information from the GM VIS (any dealer can run that report for you) or you could try compnine.com (not sure if they show build dates for every VIN there).
