Havent stopped workin on the 99 Camaro or any of my other toys but I have been paying alot of attention to my new to me 94 Trans Am GT. I traded my 2000 1500 5.3 for it even because Im not really a big truck person even though I did like it, it just wasn't my norm.

I posted my truck on craigslist and had a few hits but nothing really reached out and grabbed me. A buddy of mine and I met up and I drove the truck and asked how the truck was and I told him it was great but im trading it off for another Camaro or Trans Am and he asked if i was interested in his Trans Am....at first I didnt think he was serious but he's exactly the opposite of me. Not really a car guy but more of a truck guy. I had only seen his car one time at night 5 months previous to that day so I told him Id like to look at it.

Drove to his house and the car was actually in pretty good shape and vetter than what I remembered. Interior is in excellent excellent shape. Just needs a good cleaning. Dash is not cracked and paint is faded. I traded him. 1994 Trans Am GT M6 with exahust, cold air intake, bbk throttle body, msd opti, aftermarket intake, 3.42 rear, newer Camaro wheels, t-tops with shades and just an all around nice car.

So I called my insirance company to add it to my policy, the lady asked if it was a GT which I thought she was mistaken, i said to her "no its not a grand am, its a trans am, no gt" she told me they offered a GT on her listing for Trans Ams and I just told her no it wasnt. That night I googled it to see what exactly she was referring to and sure enough 1994 was a one year only Trans Am GT lol. Learn something new everyday.

So far I have done jack crap to this car except change the hood and had a tire issue fixed. I did order a WS6 Emblem for the rear and a warbird hood and also snagged a driver side honeycomb tail light from a friend that was junking a newer trans am. Just going to upgrade things here and there

So the trans am is being painted currently and ive had more time to focus on the SS...For years I wanted different wheels then the factory ZR1's. Even though I like the ZR1's they just were not doing it for me anymore. So I found a guy on the other side of Florida who posted a set of Race Stars for sale....they looked good and gave an aggressive appearance on his NBM Firehawk....I waisted no time and snagged them up. He was nice enough to wait till the weekend and hold them for me and we met halfway and I picked up the tires and wheels. Real nice guy which makes the deal that much better. Got home and first thing I did was throw them on. I knew there could be a chance of caliper clearance being an issue and also the chance of rubbing in the rear from the quarter pannel. His firehawk did rub a little on the tire when he hit a bump. The SS came with F4E or FE4 suspension so it sat a little higher than some of the others I had. Ive noticed too some people have issues with this and some do not. Dont know why that is but it happens. Here are some pics sorry the car is dirty and pics kinda suck

You car looks gorgeous!
I would go with the chrome C4 ZR1's.
The newer ZR1 look good, but are too spoky. It just has too much going on, but put on what you like.

I actually had the whole order finalized with OE wheels on the 5 spoke chrome zr1's with the 11" wide in the read but I ended up finding the race stars and i love them. It was close though. Thank you for the compliment

As long as I have owned the car I never had A/C except one time we added some R-134 and the clutch kicked on. It was short lived and blew cold for about 3 days and then leaked out again. I let it be and really never cared if I had it or not. One of the reasons being that the car always had a loud vibration coming from behind the glove box from the blower motor. I said the hell with it because I was a windows down kind of dude.

Well today I was bored sitting around the house and thought I wonder how much of a pain it is to stop that vibration and see if I can get the heat to blow a little better when i do need it.

So I started working on it. Im a big guy and the positions I put myself in to do this was kind of annoying or uncomfortable but it really wasnt that bad.

IF YOU HAVE A NOISEY BLOWER MOTOR THAT REALLY SOUNDS ANNOYING AT LEVEL 3 & 4 OF YOUR FAN SPEED THAN THIS MAY POSSIBLY FIX IT.

Tools needed
7mm Wrench
7mm Socket/ Rachet
Pliers
Vaccuum Cleaner (isnt necessary but helps)

Step 1

Pull these tabs, with a pair of pliers, just below the glove box door there will be 2

Size: 252.7 KB

Step 2

Remove the shield that the two tabs hels on. I dont know if they call it a kick pannel or lower dash pannel but pull it off and clean it up to let the foam dry in the sun while your doing the other parts

Step 3

Disconnect the plug going to the blower motor with purple and black wires, once you do that you can then stuff them to the side out of your way.

Size: 228.2 KB

Step 4

I really didnt take any pictures of the blower motor installed because it's really a dead giveaway as to what your looking to remove once you disconnect the black and purple wired connector. There are 3 bolts in a triangular pattern that you will have to remove. YOU DO NOT NEED TO REMOVE THE KICK PANNEL ON THE SIDE TO DO THIS

I highly recommend you do the rear bolt first, if you dont the blower motor will dangle in your way and make it that much harder. The bolts are black with large washers in 7mm. Once those 3 bolts are out you can pull the blower motor right out but try to keep a good grip on it if you dont want to spill all the crap in it everywhere.

Here it is removed notice the triangular pattern here

LAST AND FINAL OVER KILL STEP BUT I HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Reach way up into the firewall, almost like you're trying to grab the intake manifold from inside the car. Easiest way i found to do it was to sit outside the car, door open and wedge myself up close to the door hinges while sitting on the my butt. With my left shoulder against the glove box I reach up in the firewall and for 20 minutes a pulled this nasty stuff out. There is two spots there, you will know when your in the right one because one is the cradle for the blower motor and the other is the never ending hallway of death that gets narrow the more you put your arm in. I cleaned it as best as I could. I then went and got my girlfriends to see if she could get more out, she did. I tried to vaccuum it out but you can only get so far and so much out thats tucked back in there.

Once that is all done with you basically reassemble exactly the same way you took it out.

Just some pointers though, when you install the blower motor, do make sure the electrical connector is facing the passenger seat, ask me why i know. I would start with installing the bolt closest to the radio first, then the bolt closest to the kick pannel then the rear. Tighten then in a triangular pattern as well like you would when tightenting lugs nuts. Once all your bolts are tight then simply hook your purple and black wire connector back on and then lower dash pannel.

Based on all this I decided tomorrow morning to fix the A/C lol im actually looking forward to this. The factory A/C Tensioner Assembly is still on the car and its time to replace it. $60 for a new belt and tensioner you would have thought I would have done this sooner.

Added one of my dream cars to the stable finally. Numerous times I came very close to owning a WS6 98-02 and either deals fell through or wasn't what I was looking for...to make a long story short I got an 01 SOM WS6 and I couldn't be happier. I absolutely love this car. I will be selling the 94 Trans Am at this point but im ok with that cause I have something I will enjoy more. Here is the pics.

I had missed that, either way, that Trans Am looks killer too. I will love to buy one next and park it next to my Camaro in the garage. Very nice collection my friend!
