Default 93-02 Borla adjustable catback worth it?

I have a friend selling the Borla adjustable catback exhaust from a 98+ LS1 Camaro... BUT the intercooled tips are pretty destroyed. Looks like they were repeatedly dragged on the ground pulling in and out of driveways.

Would this kit be worth buying and replacing the tips? The tips alone from Borla are pretty damn expensive. What should I be looking to pay for this kit?

I guess I could also run it with turn downs to save on costs... Or use the current tips of my catback on the new catback...

Search in the classifieds to see what theyre running for, but ive seen these sell for about 300 plus shipping here. They do sound good on a stockish exhaust ls1 though.

How bad are the tips? Even though im not a big fan of borlas intercooled quad tips, they are pretty expensive. It might take a bit longer to find a good deal on a used set.

Saw the kit in person yesterday. The driver side tip isn't bad. Though that tip is tucking farther back under the car than it should. The passenger side tip is pretty banged up. The whole kit seems to sit crooked on the car.

I think I'm going to pick it up anyway. If I can get everything to line up right, we'll see what the tips look like after I clean up and polish the whole kit... If I need new tips, my mom is parting out her firebird, and her catback is a flowmaster muffler with Corsa clone tips. The tips are mine if I want them.

Picked up the kit today. It was really dirty. Got it home and cleaned it up with a rag and basic water and sodium bicarbonate solution. Gonna break out the steel wool tomorrow and try to buff off some of the oxidation/discoloring.

Been polishing with some steel wool. It's looking better and better. Probably going to pick up some mag & aluminum polish and a cotton buffing wheel and really get in to it this weekend.
