Ls1 vs ls6 intake.
How can you tell the difference between the two intakes ? I heard that the ls6 doesn't have the EGR valve coming out of the front of the intake.
Also if I was to drop the ls6 intake into my 2000 z28 what would I have to change or would it bolt right up and work

I just did the swap on my 00 SS. I bolted the LS6 intake on and Blocked off the EGR. You can use these EGR block offs http://www.ebay.com/bhp/ls1-egr-block-off and thats is. Get your tuner to ditch the EGR and tweak for the intake.
You'll need to check out the part number on the intake to make sure. Some C5 Corvettes came with an LS1 intake with no emissions tube on the front and people try and pass them off as LS6 intakes.
2001 - 2002 F-Body LS6 Part Number = 12561184
Z06 Corvette Part Number = 12573572
gmpartsdirect lists their part number as = 88894339
The LS6 intake is a drop in replacement. You'll have to either get different coolant lines that run underneath the LS1 intake that differ from the LS6, or modify the LS6 intake. Many threads have been made on this topic, search around and you'll find your answer.
