I have a 1994 Camaro z28 and I drove it yesterday and my rpms suddenly dropped and I gave it gas to keep it running. After I stopped my car shut off, when I went to start it again the starter started to screech and the rpms were dropping again. I gave it gas and my foot to the floor and eventually the rpms picked up, the problem is my car is backfiring or misfiring and it wont run if I dont have my foot on the gas. I think it could be the fuel filter or the fuel pump, but it could also be the timing chain because I can smell gas and because of the backfire. Could I get any opinions on this problem?
