Hi everyone I'm new and need help I've come upon a 4th Gen that is suppose to be a factory LT1 383 5 sad Hurst shifter with t-tops ,it's a z28. I've heard that it may have been a limited edition, and does anyone know of a site to decode vin# ,any help would be great

No such factory creation exists. There was never a stock 383ci LT1 F-body during the entire scope of 4th gen production. Also, all the manual trans V8/Z28 cars came with 6-speeds.

go look on the door codes on the drivers side and you should see the codes lt1, z28, and mn6. if you dont the car was not born as a manual lt1 z28. all z28's in 93-97 were 6spd's with a 350 lt1 or a4

IIRC, the only "factory" stroked LT1-based vehicle was the John Moss Impala SS. This was a one-off, pre-GMPD.
