well after some ******* sideswiped my car and ran away and took the mirror off n messed the door up as I mentioned...

I got a dorman replacement mirror and sprayed it with duplicolor match , and clear rattle can doesn't look bad and clayed the door and hit it with some compound and it looks better than it did...

took advantage of the nice weather and swapped my LM1 for the magnaflow on saturday and put my sway bar back on the new 9" car drives nice now sounds great. obviously tight turns are still a little funky with the spool but knowing I won't blow up a posi makes me feel good lol

and I got the overspray I got on the mirror that I painted off with Goop Off or Goop Gone or whatever the crap is called

Thanks ! just wired the switch up to a quick disconnect so when not racing I unplug it and tuck it away and no one sees it

Hoping to get sub 12 this season with the rear being able to launch harder and everything and line lock being able to get my tire stickier

well the trip to the track didnt work out as planned had clutch issues again... its possible in high heat situations my stock slave is starting to fail...

also a stock 15 year ls1 clutch prob isnt meant to take the abuse of launching a 9" with 4.30s at 6k so here is what is coming this week...

-spec stage 3 6 puck clutch
-spec ls1 steel flywheel
-spec performance slave with speed bleeder
-ARP flywheel bolts
-strange single adjustable rear shocks
-BMR adjustable torque arm

This will be putting the cam only setup on hold for a while...

clutch problems and everything tho I did cut a 1.72 60' before missing 2nd lol and shifting at 4k down the track.

Thanks for sharing. Great times, shows how much launching helps these cars.

I remember having a lot of hydraulic problems (clutch) with my 2000 SS.

Yes same lately and actually had hydrolic issues with my c6z as well but I put the spec slave cylinder in which should alleviate it .

There were clumps of clutch in the bell housing when I took it out ... I beat the **** out of the car at the track , if I wasn't racing the car would have been fine with the factory clutch , but since was having lock out issues anyway and trans was coming down did everything at once

The whole install went smooth up until the bmr torque arm which was defective the threads were seized and it wouldn't adjust properly otherwise the car would be driven now ... Whole install including rear main seal and lunch took 8 hrs

its in the FS section if your interested

I did about 70-80 passes leaving at 5-6k so that will do it ! lol

my new slave is leaking not sure why going to look in there with my video scope tonight and see if it is the speed bleeder line or if the slave is bad. its a new spec slave so I hope its not bad.

spent another 5 hours on the car tonight.

Fixed the leaking issue the 2nd nut on the speed bleeder line worked its way loose in install process...
put the qa1 adjustable rear shocks in.

had another battle with the BMR adjustable torque arm ... (not sure why this was such an issue..)

pretty much car is back together. I need to top off trans fluid, and put the car on the drive on lift and set the pinion angle

Hold fast, friend. Resist the urge to hot rod it for now and it'll pay off in the end!

It's different for each manufacturer, but usually about 3-500 miles of mellow stop and go driving.

I'm about to start the same torture of clutch and brake break in. I have a secret weapon though. I'm going to program the ECU to limit the DBW throttle so I can't even get on it. :-)
