Default Sufficient wire for moving new swap?

I have a new swap in my car, there is absolutely 0 chassis harness, I want to check the clutch / trans engagement before sending it off for chassis wiring. I'm looking for tips or stop me if I'm wrong. I was thinking of running...

Battery > 2 gauge wire >150 amp breaker > Starter

Starter solenoid > 10 gauge wire > alternator lug

Alternator lug > 2 gauge wire > Battery.

Is this ok to run, charge my battery for testing? And other fuses or safety ' s needed? Thanks for any help!!
