Default 97 Z28 rebuilding AC system

So the hot weather is here, and I am gearing up to rebuild my AC system. Currently it is holding pressure and the AC pump used to engage when defrost or AC where selected from the HVAC controlls but does not blow cold. Over whinter the pump stopped engaging when defrost was selected. I am going to replace the pump, expansion valve and accumulator. So do I need to replace the condenser as well? I can't seem to find a straight answer on this one. Some say to replace it and some say it's fine.

You only need to replace the condenser if it has a problem, but you might want to flush it.

When you turn no the AC does it send power to the compressor? If not then it might not be the issue.
