Default 98 z28 with slp

Did the 98 z28 camaro come with an slp package. I just recently got this camaro an the Vin when pulled up says a z28 ss. Just wondering if anyone can shed some light on this for me. Thanks

There was absolutely no SLP package or options available from the factory on a base Z28 car. Having said that, every 4th gen SS is also a Z28 (this is how they all started life on the assembly line), so they will have both the "Z28" RPO as well as the "WU8" (SS) RPO. If the SPID or GM VIS doesn't show a "WU8" code for this VIN, then it's not an original SS and never went to SLP for any sort of additional content from the factory.

Here's a link for a web site to verify if the car is an SS by the VIN. Specialty Vehicle Engineering is the company who bought SLP.
