I have a '99 3.8l Camaro, sadly with the auto tranny. It's been acting up a bit lately and when I got around to checking the fluid level it was extremely low. That's been corrected now, but I feel as if it was abused a bit in the time before I realized there was a problem. If this tranny happens to fail on me, would it cost more to rebuild the auto or dive into a 5 speed swap? Or would my best bet just be to go and buy a Camaro/Firebird that came with a manual from the beginning? Only issue I see is trying to get my parents on board with me owning another Camaro 😂 They think they're unreliable, but they only see so many problems come from mine due to the fact that mine has 4+ previous owners and evidently was abused to hell and back long before I got it
