'99 Camaro warm starting problem!
I have a '99 Camaro 3.8L Spectre CAI, MSD Distributor, MSD Super Conductor wires, no other add ons. My problem is, when the car is cold, it fires right up, idles and runs just fine. Once the car warms up too operating temp and I shut it off, I'll have to put my foot on the gas pedal or pump the gas to get it to fire, any ideas? Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the reply, I'll take a look and give it a try. I know everyone says putting your foot on the throttle doesn't do anything, but thats how I get it to start once it starts acting up.

Does it run rich and get bad mpg? Sounds like it's running rich warm and that happens with the computer think the motor is still cold and opening the throttle would let more air to go with that fuel. Should be able to figure out more with a scanner. They do free scans at the parts stores.

Thanks for the reply. I haven't had the car long, guess I gotta work the bugs out, it hasn't been driven much in the last year by the previous owner. Not sure if it's running rich. I have an OBD scanner, I'll have to see what I find. No CEL's at this time.

I had the same problem on my 02 z28. In the morning the car would start up instantly, but if the car was warmed up, it would turn over forever before it would start. The problem was the check valve in the fuel pump not holding fuel pressure after the pump turned off. Try hooking up a FP guage turn the key on without starting the car, and see if the fuel system is holding pressure. If it doesn't hold pressure the fuel pump need replacing. Your car will operate fine once it is start but that check valve is in the fuel pump so unless you change it, the car will be like that.
