Default Looking for some advice

Long story short, I bought a 98SS about 10 yrs ago as a roller in hopes of building a awesome street strip vehicle. However, life has gotten in the way but I知 looking to get started on the project as time permits. The issue is that mice have gotten inside the vehicle and wrecked havoc on the wiring, thankfully I had al of the interior out except for the dashboard. I知 wanting to rewire the car and I知 wanting to know what is the best direction to go for all new wiring and I will probably be looking to change to either the later 99-2002 wiring and pcm or switch over to a Holley setup. I am wanting to retain all the creature comforts of heating,ac, power window and radio. Basically I知 planning to put the car back together with a built motor, 4l80e and full interior so the kids can ride with me.

I'd see what the American Auto Wire harness or the Painless wire harness people can come up with for a replacement harness.

Hey. I just completely rewired one of my cars. It’s really not all that hard to do if everything is out of the way. I used a Painless kit. The wires have what they go to printed on each wire for the entire length of the wire. It’s very cool. Like the gentleman above said, call the technician at those companies and tell them your plans. They might just have a kit on the shelf ready to go. I have done projects in the past that I didn’t do wiring on and there always seems to be an issue.

If yours is potentially chewed at many unknown locations, yes, get a new kit from one of the above and just replace it all. I'd definitely use a kit so you are sure you have all the wires you need.

+1 ^^^^^ both replies.. The Painless harnesses only look expensive till you price all the spools of wire, and the misc parts to rewire the whole car properly.. It adds up..
