Thats a C5R block, You can read all about it on the gmmg website. It is not sold to the general public. But im sure you could buy the parts and build it yourself. Thats what I plan on doing...The C5R block part at least.

There are a few sponsers who play with the 427 cars, so Im sure you can find a plethora of info off them about it. 2Much basically gave you a "recipe" for building your own as far as what GMMG uses for components, which isnt a bad resource.

of course when the block without anything else is as much as a whole ls6 engine, then u know its going to be expensive. someone could probably build the entire engine for cheaper, but then u would have to guess at some things on it, while Katech or a few others have already built a tank of an engine.

It gets expensive I know that much. I was curious when the TT 427 from LPE first came out as to how much it would be installed in a Silverado, and they quoted me 56k. Probably has dropped down to about oh...55.5k now but for 800rwhp like they were claiming, it would be a badass setup thats for sure.
Same goes with the ZL-1 block from GMPP, 572s from GMPP, Darton and Sharioff (sp)engines or hell, go price Coates Spherical Rotating Valve heads (CSRV). 10k last I heard for just a 350 SBC setup! Seems all this stuff is high dollar...but I guess the old addage is true "if you wanna play, you gotta pay"

I agree. Personally, i'd build a forged 408 or 414, then slap some forced induction or nitrous to it. That could be done for less than half of a C5-R setup, and can be made very powerful.

You can buy the block, you can not buy a C5R engine complete from GM they do not sell it.

Yes, a 427 comes out to about 7.0 liters. And you cant buy the 100% exact C5-R engine from anyone, not even Katech (well, maybe you could but im sure it'll be about 50k) but you can buy a street-derived C5-R engine from them for 27k. Steep as hell for 585hp if you ask me, but for some $$ isnt an option.

the 427 is all about saying u have a 427, not having amazing hp. i would however, would like to see the power output of a supercharged or turbocharged 427. That would be an amazing engine. A TT 427, id guess that could make around 1000hp, if TT 346 have made close to 750 or more.

Lingenfelters TT 427 put down 940+ to the rear wheels if im not mistaken. Thats the pewter one that raced against the Blue Angel and the one that pulled 8.9s @ 150ish. Theres an 8.95 @ 153 vid is on their website.
I know Ron Duke's got a destroked 427 thats to about 397 CID now and w/ the F-1R procharger and nearly 20psi he's puttin down something like 1100-1200rwhp. Most of the force induction/nitrous fed packages push down about 750 to the wheels, and with the turn of some ***** or more spray the 1000s are very reachable.
