Default rack and pinion steering on a 67?

who makes a good kit for these cars i have the old non-power steering setup thatg weighs a ton and i would like to replace it with a rack and pinion style non power......

your going to have fun trying to find non-powered stearing for r and p...a few compains are making a full front sub-frame with r&p but I think its powered. I doubt you'd want to spend that much money anyway.

There's a company called Steeriods that makes conversions for 1st gens. They're not cheap, but they make manual and power versions. They have them in the Jeg's catalog.

A common thing to do is use the pinto rack or the mustang II rack. But you have to have some fab skills to pull that off.

yep, agreed the Steeriods R & P set-up is nice! We sell them at National Parts Depot, and they are a bolt-in affair (to my knowledge) and you'll drop about 25 lbs in weight. They make both manual and power versions, but the manual recently got dropped due to lack of sales volume.
