To me, the only thing that makes modding fun is seeing the improved results (whether it be appearance, sound, or power). Repairs just don't give me that feeling, because nothing was really "improved"; things are just back to where they were before it was broken. IMO.
I fix cars for a living and that's why I do it cause I still get that 'feeling' when I fix one. But I know what your sayin. Modding is way more fun!

I dunno if I'm just getting tired of my Z or what, but my sweet spot for that "damn, I love this car!" feeling is when I haven't driven it for 2-3 weeks. But then if I drive it for a full week, I get soooo tired of driving it. Of course, I can probably pin the reason on three chronic problems, all of which go away if I throw some money at them (clutch chatter (Stage3=good on track, bad on street), engine ping (need tuning), valvetrain noise (need rocker shims)).

There are times when I get frustrated, but I certainly don't hate it.

Talking

I like working on my daily driver. The problem is now I need a heater in the garage and a few vacation days to get the cam, etc. installed.

4:10 gears and M6 can get old + cam surge. Other than that i have a more and more stuff break the older my 97 gets. I really dont mind putting the new stuff on. But being i am in school right now, money is really bad. When things break it really hurts. Like said earlier i had to do a water pump change after i replaced and opti 2 days before. Talk about frustrating. But at the same time when your into the motor that far just do a cam or fix a gasket if it is leaking.

I cant wait till i do my shortblock one day.
