Default Hardtop or T-tops? So many t-tops to buy

I've owned three hardtops and am looking for my final f-body. There are plenty of ttop cars for sale but you're paying for it and I don't want them. I'm sure they squeak and leak eventually and I'm bald on top (sunburn sucks). Hardtops are extremely hard to find (99-02) and I've decided as usual, a 6 speed is the only transmission for me. Anyone can "drive" an automatic quick. Any opinions or advice? Seriously considering a 01 SS hardtop 6 speed now. Thanks. Oh yeah, I really like Ta's and they're pretty much all ttops.

I love Hardtops.. but, the T-Top's in these cars are awesome. Even with hunderds of hard launches and 36K on the OD, my tops do not squeak or leak.

The other problem is color. I really like white and pewter but kind of have to be flexible with the used Z/TA market what it is. I just found a 01 Z28 hardtop 6m sunset orange metallic. Not sure what I think of that color. Seems kind of different. Maybe with a set of cool shiny wheels it would come off ok.

I had a 95' TA and now a 99' SS, both with t-tops. Neither ever leaked nor squeaked. I'd never even consider buying a hardtop F-body, that would be too practical , thats what my daily driver is for.

With a set of sub frame connectors it is unlikely that T-tops will ever leak or squeak. I have three T-top Camaros and none of them leak or squeak.

Non-T-top cars are harder to sell if you should ever want to.

BTW, I have an '01 SS for sale in my sig.

I'll move this to the Racer's Lounge...

I love my 02SS hardtop. If I want the wind in my hair I'll drive my 67SS Chevelle Convertible. How are the old 4th gens t-top cars holding up for not leaking or squeaking? You can't stop aging. That weatherstripping ages eventually, shrinking, and becoming hard. I'd think eventually the t-tops will be worth more money since their very rare.

I like hardtops, had a Buick GN with T-Tops and it started cracking at the rear A pillers{what ever they are called, the area behind the side window}. A small crack on both sides. It only ran low 13s/high 12s with good traction. It did have 90K miles on it though. For me, they are stiffer, lighter and cheaper. Plus a hardtop wont ever leak! I actually passed over several T-Top cars and had to order mine. JMO.

Haha, ttops crack me up. I went for a test drive with them back in AZ. It was 114 degrees out and the salesman made a point to take them off. My head was roasted. After that I want a hardtop.

Ttops are cool but Id rather have a convertable.

Yeah, I'm sticking with the hardtop idea. I also think they are way more rare and just like the look.

My passenger side T-Top leaks like crazy. They both rattle a little bit. GM would fix neither under warrenty, cause, according to them, T-Tops are not included in the warrenty even though I believe they are located between the front bumper and the rear bumper. But anyways, I still love em. They are awesome for summertime cruising. They just suck for whoever is sitting next to me in a rainstorm.

My 95 Formula is a hardtop, but the other two Firebirds I owned were t-top cars.

I really thought I was going to miss the t-roofs a lot but I really don't. The hardtop does squeak a lot less, and feels stiffer overall. It'll still leak water in some high pressure carwashes just the same though. It's the frameless windows that cause that.
