Default What year??

Hey i'm about 3-4 months away from the biggest decission of my life, i'm gonna buy a LS-1 Camaro!!! Ok so what year do you guys think i should get 98-02 of course??

look at the one that for sure that you wont spend a lot of money on it ..... go for late models to be on the safe side..

I had posted some info on the different years but after reading the first reply , it was more complete comparision wise. That's a good basis on where to start.

01-02 already has the ls6 mintake and tubular manifolds. and the pricing on em isnt to bad nowadays.

If you are going to go all the way with the mods go with a lower mile 98-99. If you don't plan on doing a whole lot of mods go with 01-02. The 98-99 will save you money on payment and insurance. Once you start modding they are all pretty much the same. There will still be a few differences.

Well i would like to have it running mid 11' by the time i get out of college (4 years) and i want to do everything right and go with the best of everything. I'm not loaded with money or anything so i will just be makeing modifications whenever i can save enough money for them.

It all depends on what your looking for and your budget. If you have maximum amount to spend I would get a low mile 01-02, less money a 98-00 etc. The 01-02s have the best performance straight from the factory also so that couldn't hurt.

I think the best bet is 02 or 01 whichever best deal. The 02 is nice and performs pretty well stock. If you plan on 4 years modifying the newest low milage is your best bet. You don't want an engine thats almost worn out already. Plus you don't know how that engine has been cared for.
