If you ave up a grand more, to about 4500ish, you can get a real nice LT1 car. I know it sucks waiting but you will thank your self that you did.

... I'm looking to spend 4-5 grand and I've found several LT1 cars in pretty good shape- just no M6s.

i found a guy a couple hours away thats moving to cali and needs to get rid of his.

95 z28 w/ 97k miles. A4. real nice shape he says.

he said to make a reasonable offer. he WAS going to trade it in but didn't. trade in would have been like 3k. blue book is around 4kish. would 3500 be a bad offer?

i'm going to go look at it this weekend and if its as good as it sounds hopefully my dad will lend me some cash to git r dun

Awesome man, 95 is a good year LT1. $3500 isn't a bad offer on the car at all, if he wants to get it sold he'll either accept your offer or come halfway and give it to you for ~$3700. Good luck, and let us know if you make the purchase.

most LT1s will run forever if taken car of. Now, problem with a car that price, is what else it might need. I got mine for what I thought was a bargain. Soon as I got it ended up putting about $2500 into. More so chasis/body typed stuff than anything else. Had to change opti, waterpump, intake gasket, oil pan gasket, and fuel pump as well. Pain in the ***, but she runs like a champ with 135k on it. I dunno, just make sure you check it over good bro.

well i'm kinda pissed. drove 2.5 hours there and then another 2.5 back

nice car, but he wanted WAY too much for it. I heard a grinding noise when I stopped and turned and thought it might be the differential but could have just been the brake pads.

he said 6400 firm.

**** that. i HATE when people use NADA instead of blue book. you aren't dealerships, people

Lol I feel the same way man, trust me. We're in the same boat. I could have settled for a 94 Polo green A4 Z28 (70k miles) but I desperately want an M6 car.

I got my '97 B4C for $4000 with 120K miles. It has 136K now with the few bolt-ons listed and good maintenance. I ran 146mph yesterday for about 3 miles then backed out of it--I don't trust the current tires! (It had a ton of power left.) It runs like new; no valve float or opti issues as near as I can tell--at least at that speed!

I'm in the same boat as some of you guys (college man, looking for LT-1). Are Opti issues pretty much guaranteed with these cars? When do they start showing up on average? Would it be before or after 100k miles? I just wanna know how much to save extra after I find one to fix it.

would that be too bad? unreliable since they're so old? how much slower than LT1s? I do kinda like the styling just as much as fourth gens

Patients man.

Only took me a year after I sold my 94 z28 (160k miles on it, B4C bought it for $6500) a year later I buy my 94 formula for $3500 (128k miles)

They're out there. Never Settle.

I agree with the other guy, definitely don't settle, you will regret it horribly in the future. I settled for my first car, before I knew much about cars, when I was 16- I wanted a Z28 and ended up with a V6 vert that I sold within the year and bought my red Z28. Don't settle, if it's the LT1 you want, wait until you find the perfect one... and trust me, you will find the perfect one.

I had 200K on mine when I tore it down to build it insides looked new, the car did not smoke or use oil. the person I bought it from was a friend who bought it new. it had NEVER been raced (until I bought it) and had synthetic oil ran through it since his first oil change. The maintnece is the part that saves the car
