Z28 emblems first appeared in 1968.
Z28 became it's own model when it returned in 1978 (after a 3 year hiatus) and stayed that way through 1987 when the IROC-Z took it's place.
(1985-87 both Z28 and IROC-Z were available)
1988 through 1990 was IROC-Z only.
1991 through 2002, Z28 was it's own model again.
ok im going to pick at this also, only because I know about IROCs. only a very few 1990 IROCs exisit and they were all made in 1989. once 1990 hit they had to stop using the IROC name. so you could get a 1990 Z28 that wasnt an IROC.

wasnt the first "Z" car that got attention the Z11 Impalla?

First year of the Z/28 had 602 cars, thus they made the minimum ruling, then people caught on and Chevrolet started promoting the car more in the early spring of 1968, and the following year close to 7200 sold, followed by over 20,000 Z/28's in 1969.

Just more useless info in my brain...

Derek

Not useless if you're a Z fanatic and Im sure everybody would agree the 69 model year was and is the best looking
