v6 z28?
so i'm arguing with this guy at work, and he's telling me they made v6 z28's. I told him they didnt' they only came with v8's. He said he was positive and would even put money on it. Am i missing something or is this guy a total idiot?

No 4th gen Camaro that came off the GM assembly line wearing a "Z28" badge has ever been a V6. Period. Z28 = Manditory V8 motor.

There has never ever been a factory built Z/28 built with a V6, 1st thru 4th gen included; In fact, this guy may be thinkink of a z/26(?). An old girlfriend had one back in the early 90's; its a Cavalier or a Barretta, not a Camaro!

There are two possibilites here:
1. They are mistaking ALL Camaro's as being Z28's. In the same manor some people think all Firebirds are Trans Ams.
2. They have seen a V6 Camaro with Z28 badges on it (yep it probably does happen).
You just need to explain to them:
GM (Partent company) -> Chevrolet (the Manufacturer) -> Camaro (the model) -> Z28 (the spec or sub model)
For the Camaro (4th gen):
Camaro - V6
Camaro - Z28
Camaro - SS
Camaro - Convertable V6
Camaro - Convertable Z28
Pontiac is the same idea:
GM (Partent company) -> Pontiac (the Manufacturer) -> Firebird (the model) -> Formula (the spec or sub model)
If the need more nudging remind them that Z28 originally was an ENGINE option code. But due to it's popularity it became a model in it's own right. But is still used to distinguish the V8.

I thought they made a 91 turbo V-6 Z28, as well as the V-8 Z28 that year? may not have been 91 but deffenitly a late 3rd gen. I know they did the TTA, but I also thought they did a Z28?
