Difference between v6 vs Z28?

Default Difference between v6 vs Z28?

I'm looking to buy a camaro and build a 383 or 396 for, or something along those lines...


so besides the engine and tranny, whats the difference?


like exhaust, suspension...everything else.....

If you're talking about a 98-02 then not that much. 93-97 will have more stuff thats different (ask me, I know).

The front springs are different, but I think some people use them when using tubular K member/a Arms, headers and fiberglass hoods. The A/C pump will be different, but you maybe be able to use your existing lines and just =swap out the pumps. I'm not sure about the 3.8 K member, but I'm sure that it is different from the LS1, as possibly the motor mounts.

THe PCM and PCM harness would be different.

PCM and wiring harness are the big thing. Always better to start with a car that was a v8 to begin with.

the steering ratio is quicker on the V8s than on the V6s. not sure what the numbers were, i think it was somewhere around 14:1 for the V8s and 16:1 for the V6s.
