Default Shift-light tach mounting

My son got a 5 inch Autometer, shift-light tach, for his 2001 SS. Does anyone have experience with these?

Where and how do you recommend mounting it? Any pics are appreciated.

I've seen them mounted on the dash above the A/C vents- there is room there, and you can run the wires through the windshield defroster vents so you can't see them.

Or you could get the whole new gauge cluster from Camaroboy (lets you mount a 5" tach and speedo in place of the stock cluster).

Thumbs up

I have one with the shift-lite also------I just used 2 -1" screws and screwed the bracket to the plastic - surround that goes around the guage cluster---very strong mounting area there...5 years and still sturdy...I have a t/a but the camaro has the surround also---no big deal, just 2 screws and 2 tiny holes, which are under bracket.
