Sorry, I tend to be more 67 specific than 68 or 69. I do know for a fact though that disk brakes (which were 4 piston caliper type) were an option for SS's on 67's and 68's. In 69 the use of single piston calipers made disk brakes more affordable. In 70 they were standard equipment regardless of engine. The (67 at least) Z28 was required to have PDB but it was priced as a separate item. Also you are correct in that a 4-speed was required but type (M20, M21 or M22) was not specified. Sorry for the confusion.

We have a M-22 on our cutlass W-31. NUmbers matching and came stock like that. I wouldn't exactly call a 325hp SB 350 "Killer".

if im correct, the z28 302 motor with all the over the counter parts, such as 2 4bbls, and headers, chevy only rated it at 290hp, but in reality it was really making upwards of 390hp.

The 302 was rated at 290 hp from the factory without all the dealer performance bolt-ons, but that was an underrated number. The dual 4 barrel carb set-up was a dog on the street but worked great on the track where you could keep the rpms up.

yeah...the Z28 were used in Trans Am....the SS 396's were to heavy in the front end. The Z28 is what made the Camaro famous.

Correct. They under rated it at 290 hp to keep the insurance companies happy and premiums low.

The Z/28 was built for the Trans-Am circut. Had a 302.4 CI, just under the 305 limit. The Roger Penske Z/28 won 10 out of the 13 races the first year it was in the Trans-Am series. Won 8 straight races in a row.

yea i gotta 79 camaro z28 im in the process of restoring it, and i wanna go ls1 but i don't kno if i have enough money so i think im gunna go with a destroked small block chevy, how much would a ls1 longblock cost(block and heads)
